Wolverhampton, seeking the Europa League berth, will host Coventry City in the FA Cup quarter final at Molineux Stadium. Match will begin on Saturday, March 16, at 1:15 PM CET.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolverhampton won five games out of their last seven, as the Wolves pushed themselves closer to the European competitions. However, as distance to the sixth place Manchester United is still six points with ten games to go in the Premier League, FA Cup presents another opportunity for a Europa League bid.
After surviving an overtime affair against Brentford in the third round in January, Wolverhampton eliminated West Bromwich Albion and Brighton & Hove Albion, as they will now host one of the two remaining non-EPL representatives in the quarter finals.
Coventry City
While not being in the top flight since the 2000-2001 season, Coventry City is seeking its second playoff berth in the EFL Championship this season. Only one point behind the coveted sixth spot, the Sky Blues have a realistic shot of entering the race for top-3, but there is still at least one more FA Cup fixture to be played.
Coventry City blasted Oxford United, Sheffield Wednesday and a surprising Maidstone United to reach the quarter finals, as they will now travel to Molineux to try and extend the current campaign.
Prediction ⚽️
With both teams winning FA Cup in the past, as Wolverhampton and Coventry City have five combined trophies in the competition, even a semi final berth is going to be considered as a success by the fans at home.
That said, the Sky Blues are yet to face a Premier League team in the current FA Cup and a trip to Wolverhampton might be the only time they get to do it. We will side with the Wolves at home winning outright with 1.67 odds 🔥.
