Liverpool got an upper hand in the championship race, as they will try and solidify it against a soon-to-be relegated Sheffield United. Match at Anfield will start on April 4, at 8:30 PM CET.
Liverpool
Losing to Manchester United in a thrilling “3-4” finish in FA Cup denied Liverpool a chance to win the quadruple, but the Reds are still in good spot to win three titles, including two at home in England.
Once the final whistle had sounded in Manchester, where City and Arsenal played to a scoreless draw, Liverpool seized control over the Premier League race, as they simply have to win out to secure the coveted 20th league title to tie their archrivals from Manchester United. Easier said than done, but with 20 wins in 28 games, there is nothing this Liverpool team can not do, including earning three points in the upcoming game at Anfield.
Sheffield United
The Blades might be going back to the EFL Championship a season after being promoted, but it remains to be seen if the beloved Sheffield derby with Wednesday is going to be played next season, given the Owls’ struggles in second division.
After the deductions applied to both Everton and Nottingham Forest it looked like Sheffield United might have a chance of staying out of the relegation zone, but injury time goals by Bournemouth and Fulham in consecutive weeks denied the Blades four points. This is likely going to be key during the final stint of the season, as it is hard to survive in the strongest club competition in the world, while simultaneously fielding the worst offense and defense in the league.
Prediction ⚽️
Liverpool won five games in a row in the series, including a “2-0” victory on the road in December and will look to make it six this Thursday.
Sportsbooks do not give the visiting Sheffield United much of a chance, but we will give the Blades a chance to cover a massive (+3) spread with 1.88 odds 🔥.
