Uganda vs Ghana: prediction for the international friendly

An African clash to open the Tuesday schedule!

Ghana will stay in Marrakech after their bout with Nigeria in Jollof Derby, as this time they will face Uganda. Match in Morocco will begin on Tuesday, March 26, at 5 PM CET.

Uganda

Uganda has barely missed the cut line to the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, as they fell behind Algeria and Tanzania by a mere point. The 2026 World Cup qualifying process is going slightly better for now, as Uganda split the games with Guinea and Somalia on the road.

Sitting tied for second with the likes of Botswana, Mozambique and Guinea might give Uganda a shot for a possible play-off spot, as Africa will send up to 13 teams to the North American event. However, there is still a long road ahead for the 92nd ranked side in the world.

Ghana

Ghana ousted their archrivals from Nigeria to get to the 2022 World Cup but missed the playoffs despite taking down South Korea, but a new era of the team has not started particularly well.

A visit to Ivory Coast for the African Cup of Nations ended in a tragic finish, as Ghana missed the playoffs due to allowing Mozambique to score twice in the injury time. The 2026 World Cup qualifier started even worse, as the Black Stars secured a “1-0” against Madagascar at home, but fell in Moroni to Comoros.

Now, fresh off their “friendly” clash with Nigeria, Ghana will look to get back on track and rise up from a subpar 67th spot in the FIFA rankings.

Prediction ⚽️

Ghana and Uganda played 15 times throughout their history, with a majority of those games coming in the African Cup of Nations or the World Cup qualifiers. Last time teams faced each other in the international friendly happened back in 2009, when Ghana won “2-1” in Tamale.

This time the Black Stars will be the favorites again, but the Cranes can make it a game, especially, on a neutral field in Marrakech. With the help of solid odds, we will side with Uganda not losing in this one.
