Remo Stars
The Sky Blue Stars finished second during the last season of NPFL, but crashed in the very first round of CAF Champions League, as they lost on penalties to Ghana’s Medeama.
The NPFL season, however, is going well for a squad from Ikenne, as Remo Stars are currently sitting fifth with 39 points to their name. Team is only four points away from the leading Lobi Stars and with an extra game might cover that distance quickly, as there are 14 weeks left in the season.
Enyimba
The Peoples’ Elephant from Aba secured their ninth championship in the past season, but similar to Remo Stars, got instantly eliminated from the Champions League at hands of Al Ahly Benghazi from Libya.
In the ongoing season Enyimba can become the first club in Nigeria to win ten titles, as they are currently sitting in second place, trailing Lobi Stars by mere two points. However, a trip to Sagamu is coming up, where the Elephants have not won since 2019.

While it is a known fact that the home teams are extremely successful in NPFL, Remo Stars managed to come to Aba and leave with a “1-0” victory in the first round in November.
This time Enyimba will try to avenge that loss, but Remo Stars with six straight home wins might have different plans, even after a subpar performance in a loss to Sporting Lagos last week.
