One of six teams from the National First Division, who made the NedBank Cup Round of 16 this season, the Stallions from Milford have impressed during the current campaign. Traveling to Johannesburg to face the famous Kaizer Chiefs, Milford never flinched, holding opponents to a scoreless tie before winning the penalty shootout “5-4”.
While the league play is not going well for Milford, as they are tied for a relegation zone spot with a potential fall to the Second Division, Stallions will try to convert their NedBank Cup performance into a late season boost.
Stellenbosch
The Stellies, the first Cape Winelands team in the Premier League, have barely survived in the previous round of NedBank Cup, as they needed a penalty shootout to eliminate Pretoria Callies from National First Division.
Stellenbosch has recently struggled to post up victories in the league, as they have only one win in the past month, but still sits in fourth, one point behind second place Orlando Pirates. With a game to spare, the Maroons can jump into a coveted CAF Champions League spot, but first, there is work to be done in the NedBank Cup.
