The Atteridgeville-based SuperSport United is not the first team for the fans in Pretoria, as the dominant Mamelodi Sundowns still exist, but it never prevented the Matsatsantsa from winning the silverware in the domestic events.
Three time PSL winners added a multitude of the knockout tournaments trophies, including the five in NedBank Cup, as SuperSport United looks for a second straight medal finish in PSL this season. Tied for third at 33 points, the squad is only two points away from second place Stellenbosch and since top-2 gives a berth in the CAF Champions League, the battle for the silver is going to last until the finish line.
