Fresh off an upset loss in the Scottish capital, Celtic will try and keep pace in the championship race, as St. Johnstone comes to Celtic Park. Premiership Week 30 match will begin on Saturday, March 16, at 4 PM CET.
Celtic
The Celts, winning all but one Premiership season during the past decade, are still chasing their mind boggling 54th gold medal, threatening to overtake Rangers in an overall table.
The issue is that Celtic tied Kilmarnock and Aberdeen in February and despite a sudden Rangers loss to Motherwell last week, fell in Edinburgh to Hearts of Midlothian “0-2”. Now, still trailing their archrival by two points with a head-to-head coming up in April, there is no reason to panic, but a victory this weekend is a must.
St.Johnstone
Getting to the top flight in 2010, St. Johnstone spent a majority of time in the upper half of the standings, before tumbling down to the bottom of the table in the last three campaigns.
After finishing 11th and 9th, Perth-based club is currently sitting 10th, mainly because of an inept offense. The co-worst attack in the league (with last place Livingston) scored only 20 goals in 29 Premiership games, as it is a minor miracle that the club is out of the relegation zone right now.
Prediction ⚽️
Despite the difference in status, Celtic and St. Johnstone tied in their first game this season before the Celts won “3-1” in the second, as the third chapter sees them a massive favorite.
Sportsbooks are confident in a Celtic rebound after a last week’s gaffe in Edinburgh, but we will side with the road team not getting trounced at Celtic Park and covering a (+2) spread with solid 2.62 odds 🔥.
